Running QMK on the ducky one 2 mini
QMK is an open source project aimed at allowing users to customize their keyboard to their hearts content. A few years ago I decided to make my own custom keyboard which I imported. I ended up importing the DZ60RGB which is a 60% layout keyboard with per key RGB. The keyboard needed to be programmed via QMK which I explored. A few years later the port of the pcb had broken and I downgraded to a DZ60 rev 3.0 which did not have per key RGB which was a bit of a bummer. I came across a Facebook listing of a guy selling a ducky one 2 mini which I read numerous good reviews about and had to try it out. The only issue was that this keyboard could not be customized on a hardware level. After a quick search, I found a post by a guy that had ported QMK to the one 2 mini which I was really excited about. After many attempts of finding the right libraries, pull requests and commits to make it work, it was time to test it. I closely followed this post in my attempt to getting the binary file to compile. Using the tool 'nuvoisp', I managed to get it to flash. My repo and further instructions to get is flashed can be found here. With QMK ported working, I can customize my keyboard at a hardware level and further leverage the flexibility of my keyboard!
